Hello! I’m Nivi

I’m a registered psychologist with over 15 years of clinical and research experience working in a range of psychology and therapy environments including the child, adolescent and adult from preventative through to the more severe end of Mental Health (MH) services in the United Kingdom and Australia.

My Approaches and Values

My approach to therapy is solution-focused and tailored to the individual needs of clients. I pride myself in my ability to connect with my wide range of clients, including children, adolescents and adults through warmth and humor.
In my interventions, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion Focused Therapy and Schema Based Therapy.

When working with children and adolescents, I use evidence-based approaches as well as work closely with parents, school and other collateral sources/ stakeholders in order to establish clear intervention plans.

I have an extensive experience of working in adult mental health and use a recovery focused approach when working with my adult clients. For me, the objective is to work collaboratively and creatively with my clients to help meet their individual goals in a safe, secure and warm environment.

My Key Specialties and Areas of experience

I see clients with a wide variety of issues but has a key interest in anxiety disorders, depression, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), behavioural difficulties and other neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and Intellectual Disability in children, adolescents and adults. I am also experienced with perinatal and postnatal depression and has an extensive experience in running parenting skill training for behavioral management of children and adolescents with challenging behaviors.

I have worked on various research projects, such as in child development in the United Kingdom which has allowed me to enhance my clinical skills when working with younger clients.

I bring a wealth of life experience to my role as a psychologist. I enjoy being a mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. I am a classical dancer and enjoy cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
